In the dream, I had actually inherited the 'doors' to the said property but that actually meant whatever was behind the doors was technically mine too. From the outside it didn't look much, bit run down and grubby, but on opening the front door to my delight it was like an episode of Grand Designs!
It had original wooden parquet flooring, skylights with loads of light flooding in and stairs up to a massive kitchen. In fact the house was upside down in that the living room and all bedrooms were downstairs and the entire top floor was the kitchen/dining room. Hard to explain but it was beautiful! I will try to describe:
Imagine a square shaped house with two floors, go through the front door and the hallway is directly in front of you with doors on the right and left leading to other rooms. The stairs are situated in the middle of the house and in the middle of said hallway.
On going up the stairs, they lead to the middle of the top floor and the entire top floor is one big open space that is the size of the entire floorplan of the house. On one side is the kitchen with all mod cons and on the other side of the room is a massive dining table/entertaining area.
There were two large floor to ceiling windows on either side (front and back view) and weirdly the view from one was of Portabello Road Market (don't ask me why??) and the view from the other was looking down the length of the Thames with the London Eye & Big Ben visible in the distance!*
* (the fact that my folks live in South London and that Portabello Road and the Thames are not exactly next to one another didn't seem to occur to my little subconcious brain!)
The realisation that in my dream I had inherited this house for nothing was just amazing!! I was really quite sad to wake up and when I did it was incredibly vivid and all felt very real... I wish!

We can all wish for a house like that in London! With your dream, change Portabello Road Market to Broadway Market, Ben Big is St Nicholas Church on Church Lane and the River Thames becomes the River Wandle; your dream house will probably exist!
